Last year I went to Joe for a new diamond ring for my wife.Even though I did my homework on purchasing diamonds, Joe spent the time go over the different options and settings. In the end I got the perfect.

So I honestly came here because of Matt U's review about "having a guy." My husband and I were looking for wedding rings, and had been to several awful, overpriced chain jewelry stores with polished salespeople in suits, and an actual jeweler/metal worker really appealed to me. Joe is really great, a really nice guy, and great to work with. He helped me design and come up with the ring that I wanted, and he consistently checked in with me about the details. It came out perfectly, it was exactly what I wanted, and I thought it was really reasonably priced.
My husband's ring was a little more complicated, he wasn't sure what he wanted at first. Eventually he saw an idea he liked elsewhere, and brought it to Joe, and Joe was able to make a ring that he was very happy with, also at a good price.

I purchased an old, very beat up Tiffany cuff bracelet at a consignment shop this morning. The sales lady at the shop recommended I get in touch with Joe Conte to fix the damage. He said he could fix it for a VERY reasonable price, so I bought the bracelet, completely unsure of his work as I'd never met him before. I'm thrilled to say that he did a wonderful job, same day, and this beautiful bracelet looks almost new and I absolutely love it! Thank you, Joe, for breathing new life into this old piece! It will be with me for all future adventures thanks to you
Joe Conte is *my* guy. Not originally. Originally I had "a guy" at a jeweler in Waterbury. Then my friend brought me to Joe.
First of all, when you go to a jeweler, usually some tool in a half-assed business suit comes to greet, er, sell you. Joe wears jeans. Jeans and an apron. A dirty apron. He's got jeweler's goggles on his head. His fingernails are dirty. There's a dog behind the counter.
They don't just sell jewelry, they make it. After you build your dream piece, you'll realize the price is right in line with something you'd have bought.
I was so impressed (with the price!) that my fiance is getting TWO wedding bands -- one for either side of the engagement ring. His price came in at around half what I had expected, based on my engagement ring experience, so why not look.

Twice in the last year I broke my Swiss Army watch band. On both occasions I walked into Conte's Jewelers on a Saturday morning and had the band fixed while I waited at a very reasonable cost. When it comes time to purchase jewelery in the future, this is where I will go. Service and price in the same place.
